Eraser Tool | Magic Eraser Tool | Trim Tool

TECHNICAL

I first brought in a couple images into Adobe Photoshop. I began with the eraser tool to cut out any excess image I didn’t want in the design. From there, I used the trim tool(command T) and shrank and enlarged the images to my personal preferences. I also used the magic eraser tool to unify the background with the new image I was replacing the old one with.

ARTISTIC

I used the element of design, shape, to configure my new image to where i wanted it to be. I also used the element of design, color, to creating a popping-out eye opening effect on the design. With the principle of design, I used contrast and dominance as it is a more unique image that has a focal point.

REFLECTION

I like the creative and unique attitude my design captures as it is a more peculiar combination. If I were to go back and touch this project up, it would be possibly to add more to the image but I am satisfied with how it turned out.

TECHNICAL

I first brought in a couple images into Adobe Photoshop. I began with the eraser tool to cut out any excess image I didn’t want in the design. From there, I used the trim tool(command T) and shrank and enlarged the images to my personal preferences. After i was done editing the images, I used the typography tool to type my quote.

Artistic

I used the space/size and color element of design on my PSA poster. As far as the principle of design concept goes, I used rhythm for the templet of the text and dominance by focusing the images in the center of the design.

REFLECTION

Looking back on this project, I believe its a creative and unique quote for the point I am trying to get across. I feel the images I incorporated within the design fit well with the project.

Pen Tool | Brush Tool | Ellipse Tool

Technical

For Creating my first independent project, I used used Adobe Illustrator for the designing base. The main tool i used for creating this project was the pen tool as it is the basic tool for creating in illustrator. I also used the brush tool in a couple places and finished up with the ellipse tool for the circles on the stereo.

Artistic

For the artistic category of creating this project, I focused on the element of lines, shapes, and color for the design. The principle of design consisted of contrast and rhythm. I brought life to the image with the colors I used while keeping a basic life-stlye template.

Reflection

Reflecting back on the design, I like the character’s shape of the bodies and colors I incorporated with them. I enjoy the interesting yet solitude attitude the image portrays. If i could go back and change the image, I would most likely try to focus on the texture and precision of the image.

Type Tool | Handwriting – Dakota

Technical

For creating my A-G poster, I used Adobe Photoshop as my base. From there, I brought my basic background image in and started from there. As, it was the A-G poster, I didn’t really use any tools besides the typography tool for typing the letters.

Artistic

The principle of design I used was the concept of having the text on my background of lined paper, as you would in School and College. I believe this worked well as it was in the same field of objects. I also chose a hand writing similar font for the title of the A-G poster.

Reflection

I like the way my poster looks. I believe it was a clever and unique idea and it works well with the concept of creating an A-G poster. I would not like to go back and change the way my poster looks as I think it is good as is.

Quote Response

“The ultimate freedom for creative groups is the freedom to experiment with new ideas. Some skeptics insist that innovation is expensive. In the long run, innovation is cheap. Mediocrity is expensive—and autonomy can be the antidote.” ~Daniel Pink

To me, this quote represents the freedom of being creative and expressing your true talents to you’re full capability. The idea of hard work being being meaningful is clearly represented as well as the connotation of mediocrity being meaningless. Daniel Pink shows a very powerful message through this quote.

Type Tool | Transparency – Multiply

Technical

To create the quote poster, I brought my work into Adobe Photoshop first. From there I decided to copy a couple images into the Photoshop to start working. The primary tool I  used while working was the typing tool as I mainly used words in my poster.

Artistic

One principle of Design that I used in my quote poster was blending and transparency. I used this concept to cancel the bold look of the word on the item so it would look a little bit more natural and calm.

 Reflection

I like the simple but unique concept that my design portrays. It is clever as well as it is not too confusing. I also believe the images create a clear idea of what the quote is saying but if I can go back and do it all over again, I would try to find better images.
