Typography Poster Tutorial | Bebas Font | Success Quotes

TECHNICAL

I started of with a radial gradient from white to gold to black. Then, using the tutorial, I typed SUCCESS arranged it on the page, and added an opacity. Using typography, I arranged words and success quotes to the shape of the letters by the use of transformations and warp text. Lastly I added shadows to SUCCESS  and the bottom header.

ARTISTIC

Lines and shapes are seen through the various “=” signs. Color and contrast is used because the dark green letters stand out against the monochrome words. The value of the shadows behind the texts give the words depth. Rhythm is seen because I used the same 4-5 fonts throughout the poster, but at the same time I didn’t put the same font next to each other. This leads to composition because each word was carefully arranged to form a letter and each word and font was placed next to each other to form quotes and phrases. Lastly, dominance is clearly seen because SUCCESS is enlarged and at the center of the page.

REFLECTION

I’m partially happy about this poster. I wish I could’ve picked better fonts that would blend together more smoothly. I think if I had more time I would use less words so that it doesn’t look so crowded in each letter and make it more readable. This poster was definitely more challenging as I had to transform each word to fit each letter.

TECHNICAL

I started of with a black to white gradient background. Next, I added the pictures of Big Bang separately, and arranged them together. Then, I used smart filters and masks to make a black and white effect and also a white shadow and blur in the background. The header was copied and pasted into the poster after I used a separate document to add the light effect in the background by using a tutorial. I again, used the pen tool and brush tool to adde the light beams and sparkles. Lastly, I added shadows and glows to the texts.

ARTISTIC

The lights created a line ”bordering” the Big Bang members. Color and contrast is seen because the white lights, sparkles and text shadows appear bright and stand out in front of the monochromatic background. Rhythm is displayed because there are pops of yellow throughout the poster, which also creates harmony. Dominance is achieved because Big Bang stands out right in the center of the poster in a bight black and white contrast. A sense of movement is noticeable because of the blurred outline of the Big Bang.

REFLECTION

I’m pretty proud of this poster. I think I capture Big Bang’s style as a band. The yellow represents their fan color and the bright lights display their importance. My only complaint is that the web version tweaked the original, so it doesn’t look as good.

Technical

First, I started with a black background, then I added a vector car that I downloaded online. Then I took a vector angel wing and blended it onto the vehicle. I gave the wing a simple black stroke and put opacity on it. Next, I made the texture of the  road or street by using a tutorial and made a layer under the car. Next, I took an image of a wall and added a black to white gradient on it then also added it to layer under the car and street. Afterwards, I learned how to make light beams, so I added that by using the pen tool and brush tool. Lastly, I filtered a picture of a guy in a tunnel, by changing the colors to black and white and also changing the lighting effects.

Artistic

I used composition by adjusting the car and road diagonally in order to give it a motion effect and also capture the viewers attention. I added a line with the gravel road which almost acted like a divider for the poster. In addition, the road is also a shape, a rectangle, and also displays texture because it looks like a gravel street/road. Color is seen by the light beams which contrasted nicely against the dark background. Contrast appears through the white quote and bright lights against the black background. Though I used two different pictures, harmony is seen because they both are dark colors and have an angel wing concept. Movement can be seen by the wings and lights of the car.

Reflection

I’m pretty satisfied on how this poster looks. I feel that it captures the danger aspect of the quote, but at the same time it shows a sense of freedom. I also feel that it captures the free spirit of the youth.
