Don’t sneak up on me like that! You scared the crap outta me…

*sigh* Shakes head.

You new kids are so antsy and clumsy you don’t have any grace yet. That’s OK. Training will get you nice and smooth… like me.

Next up, let’s talk about assessments. You know ... how you get graded.

Let me tell you -- Grades don’t work so well for for people like us. But the high ups and muckety mucks require us to document your training and progress. So we have to do it. Cap ... he hates grades, but it’s just the reality we gotta work in. So here’s how we do it:

AAA Rubric

“There are three responses to a piece of design – yes, no, and WOW! Wow is the one to aim for.” ~Milton Glaser

3 – AWESOME – You did your best and can use the skill at any time.

2 – AVERAGE – You can use the skill, but need help and pointers.

1 – AWFUL – You can’t really explain or demonstrate the skill at all.

IF YOU WANT THE GRADE . . . DO THE WORK!

It's simple. Do average work, get an average grade. Work hard, play by the rules, and put in the extra effort ... good things will happen. Cap likes to say, "Your work is never done." You can always add a little something extra, a little detail, to make your design work pop! Do that ... and you are Awesome. Capisce?

That was a lot of info Visitor. Like a lot of things in the CIA, we do things a bit differently. If you are working hard, our different take on grades SHOULD be to your benefit.
